The Eastern Bonsai Society, is one of oldest and best-established Bonsai clubs in Johannesburg, celebrating its 48th birthday this year. The members have vast knowledge and experience to share.
We're thrilled to have them involved in our show.
The club has 12 meetings a year-the 2nd Saturday of the month from 12.30 till 4 pm. It takes place at Hospice Wits situated at 52 Second avenue Houghton.
There is an informative talk/demonstration at meetings followed by a hands-on club workshop where you can work on your tree, get help and advice. Beginners up to Bonsai master level accommodated. All this takes place in a relaxed atmosphere with tea/coffee and cake.
Members are encouraged to bring a tree to display and every month a lucky member wins a R50.00 gift voucher to spend at the club shop.
LIBRARY
Any paid-up member can take out books and magazines from the well stocked library and return them at the next meeting.
BONSAI SHOP
The club probably boasts the best stocked Bonsai shop in Gauteng stocked with Bonsai pots, soil, all thicknesses of wire and top quality imported Japanese tools....in short everything you need for your hobby at very affordable prices.
